As Election Day approaches this Monday, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in Division 6 for your incredible support over the past five months. It has truly been my privilege to step forward as a candidate and meet so many of you along the way. From conversations that matter most to you, to community events, your kind words, thoughtful questions, and encouragement have meant so much.

Over the last couple weeks we’ve delivered +/- 650 information packages across Division 6, sharing details about key issues for our residents and how I vow to continue being a strong voice you know, trust, and can count on. If we happened to miss you, you can now find all that same information in those packages on my website linked below. If your vote is still undecided, I welcome you to look through my website where I offer every detail about who I am, my experience, and how I vow to serve you in our community.

I’ve received many thoughtful emails and messages with questions, concerns and ideas on how we can build a stronger more accountable Red Deer County. Thank you for your engagement and for caring about the future of our division. I’m always happy to answer any questions before Election Day. No matter the outcome on Monday, I’m proud of the respectful, community-focused campaign we’ve built together and grateful to have let my name stand. It’s been an honour to call this community home for 13 years and to live among residents who are truly connected, and care so deeply about our Division and its future.

Why Me, Why Division 6 Means So Much To Me

Long before this election or even considering running for office, I’ve been deeply invested in our community - not because of politics or position, but because Division 6 has been the place I’ve proudly called home for 13 years.

I’ve had the privilege of serving as Vice President of the Poplar Ridge Community Association and sitting on the executive board for Lacombe–Red Deer Rural Crime Watch, working alongside neighbours to keep our rural areas connected and safe.

The pillars of my campaign, Community and Transparency have always been important to me - It’s why I initiated a county wide petition for transparency on the forensic audit findings in Red Deer County. Residents deserve honesty, accountability, and openness in their local government. Community focused with transparency is how I intended to continue lead if elected.

I’ve lived in Red Deer my entire life, and for over a decade, I’ve built a trusted small business right here in the county a business built on trust, hard work, and integrity. For six years running, our small business has been awarded top spot by the community simply for doing what we said we would: delivering on our promises, rooted in trust.

My family’s roots run deep here. I’ve raised my children in this community. I still remember walking into Poplar Ridge School for the first time it immediately felt like home. A school you could lap in 60 seconds, with a smile around every corner. Like so many of you, our children started kindergarten at Poplar Ridge, and now they’re in the home stretch of high school. We’ve built our lives here, just like so many other families.

For the past five months, I’ve been on the campaign trail - listening to residents, staying involved, and engaging in the conversations that matter most. Because I care deeply about this county and the people in it. When you choose your next councillor for Division 6 in the upcoming election, choose someone who’s already proven they’re invested - someone who’s lived here, volunteered here, raised their family here, and worked hard here for many years.

On October 20th, vote Leanna Hamilton for Red Deer County Council. Because this community and the people already deeply invested in it - isn’t just where I live… it’s who I am, and it’s the place we proudly call home.
